Psychology Foundation Diploma

Course Synopsis :
This course offers a look at the major theoretical approaches in Psychology and also examines some of the issues that Psychologists are still working on today. People are complex and there is often competing explanations for their behaviour and this is what the course addresses. This course is suitable for the beginner and no previous knowledge of Psychology is necessary (recommended before commencing A Level Psychology course). All of us have an interest in and socialise with people and an understanding and awareness of Psychology will stand you in good stead in relation to many careers in the future. Psychology can be useful in both the Caring Professions and in Business related professions. When you complete your studies you may wish to consider Direct entry to University level study (if you are a mature student). The way to make this a reality is to keep a folder containing your assignments and write to the Admissions tutor of your local University so that they can see the level that you have attained. If you complete the course successfully you can ask your tutor if they will supply you with an academic reference that will stand you in good stead for your application. The course has been written to the academic standards expected at first level entrance to University. A place cannot be guaranteed but is something to consider for the future.
