A Level English Language

Course Overview
English is the world's most commonly used language in business, in fact it's often taught in many foreign countries as part of the curriculum. And it's true to say that if you really want to succeed in both life and business, a good grasp of both written and spoken English is essential.

By taking 'A' Level English you'll learn about the use of language in both the past and present, and explore how language is used to communicate in various situations. In this home study course you'll also cover Textual Commentary, Desk Study, the Language of the Media, Varieties of English, Spoken or Written Study and Editorial, and Language.

There is no deadline for enrolment so you can start your course at any time.

Pre-requisites
Although GCSE English is not required, it is recommended. If you have not yet completed this course, then why not enrol in the ICS-GCSE English and get the qualification you need to go on and succeed with your 'A' Levels?

200 hours approx.

As an ICS student you will have your own personal tutor helping you with your course work and with any questions you may have.  Plus the team of Student Advisors are only a phone call away for all the practical advice you may need - so we really are with you 100%.

Exam Details
Once you've enrolled on your chosen course(s), you'll receive all the information you need to arrange your exams*, including details of syllabuses, exam boards and dates. As exams are held in various parts of the UK, you shouldn't have to travel too far to sit them.

If you're based outside of the UK, it may be possible to sit your exam through your local British Council, depending on your location. If you have any questions at any time about arranging your exams, the ICS Student Advisers will be pleased to help.

Exams take place in January and June with the exam enrolment deadlines being mid August and January respectively.

*Exam fees not included in course fee.
