One thing everyone has in common is that they can name their favourite childhood book - whether it was a fairytale, an adventure story, or a picture book. And by taking the Writing Books for Children course with ICS, you could be fondly remembered by generations to come as a fantastic storyteller yourself!

This superb course guides you through the many styles of writing for five different age ranges - babies and toddlers, four to six year olds, six to eight year olds, eight to ten year olds and ten to twelve year olds. You'll learn how to craft your characters for each age group, how to hold your plot together, and how to write dialogue that will keep the young reader wanting more! In fact, you'll learn all of the vital skills needed to really make a go of it. The course will even give you great advice on how best to get your work published, and thanks to the fantastic free books we'll provide you with, you'll have plenty of inspiration at hand.

Pre-requisites
The great news is that you don't need any previous experience to take this course.

Study Time
100 hours approx. For example: 8 hours per week to complete in 3 months, or 2 hours per week to complete in 12 months. Study as little or as much as you wish.

As an ICS Writing Books for Children student you will have Karen King, author of over 80 children's books, as your own personal tutor to help you with your course work and with any questions you may have. Plus our team of Student Advisors are only a phone call away for all the practical advice you may need - so we really are with you 100%.

Exam Details
This course includes a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and then forward to your tutor. Once your tutor has marked and graded your work, they'll send it back to you with their comments, if any.
