How to Draw


Course summary
This course is designed for anyone who wants to progress their drawing skills and develop confidence in the use of a variety of drawing media. It provides them with an introduction to the basic elements of drawing, the use of media and materials, and to working with compositional and expressive elements in the production of finished drawings. Students will learn how to work effectively with line and tone, to deal with basic perspective, and to develop their creativity through drawing.

The course is designed to develop confidence and competence in the use of a wide range of drawing media, in observational skills, and in creative interpretation.

The course involves approximately 72 hours of study.

The course fee includes unlimited online tuition and support, together with access to comprehensive course materials and to a secure personal online studio, where you can upload and store images of your work and communicate with your tutor.

All courses are supported by comprehensive learning materials which provide step by step instructions for the completion of exercises and projects, together with suggestions for further study and information on artists, techniques and materials.
