Introduction to Mixed Media
Course summary This course consists of one unit, which is equal to approximately 72 hours of study. It provides an ideal grounding for students who have no previous experience of working with mixed media and would like to build their confidence. The course covers a range of basic mixed media techniques such as papermaking, mono printing and mark making, and working with conventional and unconventional materials. It explores the use of colour, proportion and scale, and pattern and texture.
Students work initially in monochrome, progressing to the use of colour in the production of a workbook of mixed media examples.
On completion of this course, students will have a broad skills base and a thorough understanding of mixed media techniques. They will also have learned to look at things differently. On completion of this course students may wish to progress to “Working with Mixed Media”
The course involves approximately 72 hours of study.
