Modern Art 1890-1960
Course summary This course is one of a series designed for anyone who wants to extend their appreciation of the visual arts. The aim of the course is to develop a wider understanding of the development of Modern Art in the 20th century through an examination of the work of individual artists, and of the social, cultural and political context in which they worked. Students undertake a series of tutor-led practical assignments and compile a visual dairy of photographs, sketches and notes to complement their studies.
The course involves approximately 72 hours of study.
