If you want to pursue a career in accountancy, qualifying to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is one of the best routes available.

CIMA is an internationally recognised and respected body offering one of the most highly regarded qualifications there is for strategic and financial management.

Indeed, you'll find the scope of the CIMA qualification goes well beyond pure accountancy and even most management courses to provide a complete education for business in the 21st century.  What's more, with ICS you have the flexibility to decide which papers to study, and how many of them at each stage. Pre-requisites
No management or accountancy experience is required to begin studying but you must be 18 years or older, with 2 A Levels (Grades A - E) and 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above), including English Language and Maths at either level.  Advanced GNVQs in Business and National Diploma/Certificates in Business are also acceptable.  The CIMA will also consider students aged 25 or older who have considerable practical experience of accountancy and are currently working in the field.

Study Time
100 hours approx. For example: 8 hours per week to complete in 3 months, or 2 hours per week to complete in 12 months. Study as little or as much as you wish.

Exam Details
This course includes a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and then forward to your tutor for grading and comments.  You'll also be required to sit exams at an authorised testing centre near you.  Exams are held in May and November each year.

CIMA Part-Qualified.
