If you want to learn how to take perfect pictures, ICS can help. Our photography courses cater for everyone, so whether you're a complete amateur or an experienced snapper, you'll find something to suit your needs - in fact with the new skills you learn, you could even make photography your profession.
With the City & Guilds Basic Photography course you will gain a good understanding of the workings of the camera, learn about different lenses and film, as well as the importance of lighting. In fact in next to no time you could be taking some absolutely fantastic shots.
You'll find that black and white photography is one of, if not the most creative forms of photography and by taking the City & Guilds Black and White Photography course you will learn the skills to not only shoot great pictures, but also develop and print your own film!

Pre-requisites
For the City & Guilds Basic Photography the great news is that you don't need any previous experience to take this course. You will need to have a suitable camera and access to some basic studio equipment - ie either a SLR camera or compact, tripod and camera flash. Digital cameras can be used but they must have sufficient capacity to produce the required work.
For the City & Guilds Black & White Photography you will need to have completed the City & Guilds Basic Photography. You must also must have access to darkroom facilities and also use conventional means to process and print all the black and white prints presented for the assignments and the portfolio.
Study Time
180 hours approx. For example: 7.5 hours per week to complete in 6 months, or 4 hours per week to complete in 12 months. Study as little or as much as you wish.

Exam Details
The course includes a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and then forward to your tutor. Both courses also include a final portfolio that is submitted to City & Guilds for assessment. Please note the City & Guilds Portfolio Registration Fee is not included with these courses.
