Certificate in Valuing Diversity in the Workplace
Aims The aims of this course are to examine the legal, regulatory and ethical considerations brought about by the changing society within which we live and to promote best practice in adopting, encouraging and managing diversity.
Context Differences in beliefs, values and culture are an increasingly important part of our society. An understanding not only of the legal framework which exists, but also of the positive benefits which can arise from a varied community, are essential elements of any organisations success. This programme is intended to promote greater knowledge and understanding of a variety of issues which diversity raises and to encourage adoption of best practice in managing workplace relationships.
Student Profile This programme is designed for people who wish to gain a better understanding of the changing nature of society, legal aspects of equality and the benefits that can accrue from valuing diversity in clients, customers, colleagues and staff.
Study Method The course is designed for study by work based learning or distance learning. Students will receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support. Assessment is in the form of a series of tutor marked assignments.
Accreditation Subject to approval, the course will be accredited by ASET, an awarding body recognised by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
