Certificate in Drug Awareness
Aim The aim of the course is to provide an understanding of drug and substance misuse, together with interventions which are available.
Target Audience This programme is designed for anyone working in drug support agencies, teachers, youth workers and parents wishing to become more familiar with drug misuse.
Content The course comprises four study modules:
Unit 1: Introduction to drug use and misuse
Unit 2: Dealing with other substances
Unit 3: Levels of drug use, risks, and harm reduction
Unit 4: Types of treatment interventions available
Home or work-based distance learning with tutor support

Exam fees The course price includes exam and accreditation fees so you will not be faced with any additional costs.
Pre-requisites
All Study House courses provide all of the information required to complete the programme and no prior learning is required.
Reading lists Everything required is provided in your study pack but, where it is appropriate, included is either a reading list or, more often, a "sources of further information" sheet which signposts books, publications and web sites that you will find helpful if you wish to explore the subject further.
Study Times
This course will require between 50 -70 hours of study (depending on your familiarity with the subject).
Course duration Plan your own flexible study schedule. You will receive tutor support for a full year from your date of registration. This may be extended by agreement between you and your tutor (in the case of house/job change, maternity break for example)
