Aims
The aims of the programme are to enable students to develop the skills to care for medical incidents, injuries and emergencies whilst complying with the requirements of the first-aid at work regulations.
Objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
• Identify the specific constraints which apply to aviation medical situations
• Understand their responsibilities resulting from first aid regulations
• Demonstrate an understanding of common problems and emergencies which arise in an air passenger environment
• Describe how to respond appropriately to a range of medical emergencies
• Demonstrate an understanding of ground support and procedures for dealing with serious injury or illness
Student Profile
The course is intended for anyone considering or currently employed in a customer facing role in ground or cabin crew occupations in the air travel industry.

The course is designed for study by tutor supported open learning. Students receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support.
